The Sword

There are many parts of a life,
That make up the whole,
And many components of a man
That forge his character.
Chill winds and winter snow,
Or sun and sea,
Each can test a man and temper his steel,
The mix of the iron the bough
That breaks or bends,
In the storm of his making

Aaah! Here comes the Inner Katana I was looking for, after noticing immediately when first coming to your blog the beautiful outer Katana that, along with the Rose, welcomes the visitor!…
The sounds and rhythm of the words, and the tempo of your poem as a whole evoke so well the hard hammering that you describe, and the storm it means in life, I really congratulate you for this piece, so perfectly forged itself, contents and form in perfect fit together!…

Again me: This new poem of yours unexpectedly inspired me one too, dedicated to you (it is not said who) and your endeavour here.
I just now posted it on my blog!…

There is good connection between the forging of a sword and the forging of a man. Well done.

Of that there is no doubt – layers of strong and flexible steel forming the ultimate tough weapon…which if it is used right, will never have to strike. Thank you for reading and commenting.

A sword is a great analogy for man in so many ways. It takes time and fire for one to prove his worth and temper his impulses. Well done!
