The Hours

It is not death I fear,

but endless empty hours with only bitterness and regret to fill them.

I would rather live a short life filled by doing what I love,

than a long boring one with only a vague dream of redemption to give me hope.

Very wise words; it’s my fear too.

I agree with the living a life doing what we love. Life sometimes feels like a cage… if you let it. Nice write!

Beautifully, simply honest. 🙂 I think a lot of people share those same sentiments. Perhaps redemption is something we choose instead of wait for; the freedom to live without guilt and without regret knowing we were born to embrace life to its fullest.

Thanks Elli. Interesting perspective – for me I think we all compromise a little, for it is too hard not to. So part of me lives in the present and part looks on from without, regretting. I guess that is was it is to be human.
